The Augsburg Dirty Slugs were founded in 2000 by Daniela Schälchli and Karin Dusil as the softball department of the DJK Augsburg-Lechhausen . In contrast to most of the other German baseball and softball clubs that offer both sports, the Dirty Slugs only play softball. In May 2009 the club's new softball facility was inaugurated. The club has two teams that play in the league.
