August Broger

August Broger (* 1953 ) is a former Swiss cross-country skier .

Career

In 1975 he won the Engadin Ski Marathon as an outsider in the record time of one hour and 42 minutes.

Broger was considered a polyvalent athlete and was known in wide circles. After his active sports career, he worked for years in the ski industry at Toko and Kästle and at the Swiss Ski Association as a wax and material expert in cross-country skiing.

Private

Broger grew up in Gonten , the second oldest of eight siblings. Today he lives in Appenzell and has been working for the Säntisbahn since 1990. He is currently a member of the management board and responsible for the tourist offer.
