Auricularia (echinoderms)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The auricularia is a larval form of the echinoderms (Echinodermata), which occurs in the individual development ( ontogenesis ) of the sea whale (Holothuroida). It is an initially bilaterally symmetrical shape that largely resembles the Dipleurula . However, the lash band is often more lobed. With the beginning of the metamorphosis , a doliolaria forms, in which the lash band breaks up into three to five individual bands. The conclusion of the metamorphosis is the pentactula stage with five tentacles and a pair of feet from which the finished sea roller develops.
