Exchange officer

An exchange officer is an officer who is usually sent to the armed forces of a friendly country for a longer period of time and performs his service there. Most exchange officers are assigned to posts that are part of the personnel structure and therefore could also be occupied by a soldier from the host country.

Goal setting

In addition to the objective of getting to know the operational principles, organization and equipment of the host country's armed forces, exchange officers contribute to the expansion of bilateral relations as representatives of their home country and to building trust.

Participation in missions

Depending on the intergovernmental agreements, exchange officers also take part in missions in the respective country.
