Australian Inventory of Chemical Substances

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Australian Inventory of Chemical Substances (AICS) corresponds to the European chemical directory EINECS (including ELINCS and NLP ).

Chemical substances used or imported in Australia must be included in the AICS.

The AICS is part of the NICNAS (National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme), which is the legal basis for the registration and assessment of industrial chemicals in Australia.

The NOHSC (National Occupational Health and Safety Commission) is responsible for this area in the Australian government.
