Autogenous
Autogen stands for originating from itself . The term, widely used from biology to technology, is made up of the ancient Greek words αὐτό (auto) = automatic and γένεσις, (genesis) = genesis , emergence.

In biology, autogenesis describes the hypothesis according to which life has an inner tendency to develop meaningfully (but not necessarily linearly ) - see also teleology .

The relaxation method Autogenic Training should actually be called Training for Autogenic Relaxation , because it teaches relaxation that is created within.
Derived terms in technology
- The autogenous welding by extreme heating of a metal got its name because the gas flame shields the weld pool (molten metal) from the surrounding air.
- Also at autogenous flame-cutting - the thermal cutting of steel - takes the attribute "autogenously" on the operation without substances from outside reference.
