Axiography

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An axiography (also condylography , condylography or pantography ) is the kinematic method to record the movements of the temporomandibular joints . With the help of the recording, the individual hinge axis of the temporomandibular joints is determined and the boundary movements of the condyles are registered. The method is a possible prerequisite for the exact transfer of the model into the articulator and its programming with regard to the inclination of the condylar path, the Bennett movement and the anterior / posterior tooth guidance. The origin of the word axiography is derived from the axiograph, which was developed by the Munich dentist Heinz Mack in 1978.
