Azadeh (also Āsādeh, azade or Āsāde Persian آزاده) is a female given name from Persian .

meaning

Translated, the name means free thinker . The word was originally an adjective and not gender related. Azadeh is a noun adjective , not uncommon in Persian grammar. This phenomenon is called صفتی که به جای اسم نشسته است in the Persian grammar. Azadeh is not to be confused with Azadi, which means "freedom".

Azadeh is not the feminine form of Azad, a male given name.
