Azucareros de Córdoba

Club Social y Deportivo Azucarero de Córdoba , usually shortened to Azucareros de Córdoba , is a Mexican football club based in Córdoba , Veracruz .

history

After winning the then third-rate Tercera División in the 1980/81 season, the Azucareros rose to the then second-rate Segunda División , in which they were represented in the following five years until the 1985/86 season. Most recently they played in the 2005/06 season in the now only third-rate Segunda División. Since the sale of its license to Tiburones Rojos Veracruz , their branch team, Tiburones Rojos de Córdoba, has represented the municipality of Córdoba in the Segunda División. The Azucareros played in the two following seasons (2006/07 and 2007/08) in the now fourth-rate Tercera División and then withdrew from professional football for an indefinite period back.
