Sapling snail
Sapling snails are nudibranch snails with tree-like appendages on their backs, which mainly feed on fixed cnidarians. The term tree snail can be defined more narrowly or broadly:
- the shaggy tree snail ( Dendronotus frondosus )
- the family Dendronotidae , to which the shaggy tree snail belongs
- the family Tritoniidae , to which other tree snails belong:
- the Great Tritonia ( Tritonia hombergi )
- the fringed tree snail ( Marionia blainvillea )
- the superfamily of sapling snails (Tritonioidea), to which other predatory nudibranch snails belong in addition to these two families
