Flanging machine
A flanging machine produces 90-degree borders, as required on curved segments of sheet metal for ventilation ducts . Such a raised board (see flanging ) is called a standing seam . Together with the Pittsburgh fold , the Pittsburgh fold connection common in ventilation duct manufacture is created .
Cam attachment : In a further pass, the raised shelf can be cut and embossed in places with the help of an additional device. This creates the cam standing seam which , together with the snap seam, creates the also very common snap seam connection .
Tube flanging machine
A flanging machine is also needed in the area of tube processing, for. B. for the production of motor vehicle cables.
A hydraulic crimping machine applies a crimp (e.g. type DIN crimp F, SAE crimp F, SAE crimp E) to the end face of the pipe using a crimping tool and a clamping device that holds the pipe in place.
A threaded piece is now pushed onto the tube up to the flange. The threaded piece then serves as a connection to the counterpart (e.g. brake hose, brake cylinder).
The flange presses against the counterpart through the screw connection and forms a seal through the sealing surface.
