Bow scraper

The ironing scraper is a device in the pitching (resin extraction ), which is regionally also called Rintler . It is used to scrape off the pine bark . It is a knife blade that is attached to a bracket on both sides and has a short handle across the cutting direction.

In 1913, a debarking device that worked on pull (as an alternative to the peeling irons that were customary at the time, or the pulling knife that could be operated with both hands ) was registered for utility model protection by the Palatinate Forestry Department Assessor Münch under the name ' bow scraper' .
