The Bürgerliches Brauhaus Ravensburg Aktiengesellschaft is a former brewery in Ravensburg , which was created in 1903 through the merger of three Ravensburg breweries (including the Zum Storchen brewery, founded in 1864 ). The roots of the merged breweries go back to 1817. In the following years there were numerous acquisitions: 1904 the Johann Schuler brewery in Ravensburg, 1907 the brewery and the malt house "Zur Räuberhöhle" in Ravensburg, 1909 the mountain brewery near Friedrichshafen (1909 ), 1927 of the brewery Zum Schützen in Meersburg and 1930 of the Gambrinus brewery in Weingarten. In 1972, the majority shareholder Inselbrauerei Lindau AG took over the brewing operation and the company was renamed Bürgerliches Brauhaus Ravensburg-Lindau AG .

At the end of 2000, the brewery with around 70 employees was shut down. At that time, annual sales of around € 10 million were achieved from the brewery and from renting and leasing. The beer brands, brewing recipes and contract customers were transferred to the Edelweißbrauerei Oskar Farny in Dürren near Kißlegg in the Allgäu.

The shares of the company, which still exists today, are traded in the Freiverkehr Plus of the Stuttgart Stock Exchange. After the brewery closed, most of its revenues came from managing real estate and corporate investments. As a result of the insolvency of Frigera-Frischgetränke GmbH and the 2006 merger of RAGA Ravensburger Gaststätten GmbH with the AG, the management of participations lost its importance in favor of the gaming machine segment. The main shareholder is still Inselbrauerei Lindau AG , which has only been active in asset management since 1972 (94.51 percent of which 6.81 percent through Aktienbrauerei Simmerberg AG and 16.35 percent through Insel Verwaltungs GmbH).

The former brewery “Zum Storchen” in Friedhofstrasse still exists today, as does the “Bear Garden” and the “Robber's Cave”. Today there is a residential park, the listed director's villa and two office buildings on the historic brewery site.

Because of the cultural and historical roots of the individual restaurants in the area, changes and extensions are often picked up in the regional media, most recently on the occasion of the acquisition of a historical building in Weingarten.

The Bürgerliches Brauhaus Ravensburg-Lindau Aktiengesellschaft rents and leases its real estate and operates slot machines today.
