Citizen University
So-called citizens' universities are organized by German universities . The aim is to address other sections of the population (“ citizens ”) beyond the students and academic staff and to inspire them for scientific topics and to increase public awareness of them in the respective cities.
The existing citizens' universities and their activities currently present a mixed picture. A clear definition is not yet possible.
A citizens' university generally functions as a public relations tool .
