B-Daman ( Japanese ビ ー ダ マ ン , Bīdaman ) is a marble toy from Japan. It was developed in 1993 by the Takara company and is distributed by Hasbro . The toy in the form of a humanoid figure shoots marbles specially made for the toy, depending on the accessories, the flight or rolling properties of the marble can be influenced. Several anime series as well as mangas , video games and trading card games were produced for the game .

Style of play

The game can be played in pairs or in larger groups, there are different types of games. It is either shot at the opposing B-Daman, a B-Daman of the opposing team or a target object is to be hit or the marbles are to be pushed in the direction of the opponent. The possible types of play depend on the accessories. In addition to the B-Daman, marbles and the target objects such as skittles or the puck to be pushed, barricades to protect the targets or opponents or goals for the marbles are also included.

Publication and events

The first series of toys was developed by Takara in 1993 . Since then, series with other B-Daman, marbles and accessories have appeared regularly. Some of the later series were coordinated with the adaptations that were published at the same time. The toy is sold through Hasbro , who together with FOX Entertainment brought it to the North American market in 2004. The previously nameless marbles were given the designation B-Daballs . Then the game came on the German market.

For the game, Takara organizes championships in Japan, there are also championships, for example in Canada and Germany.
