B physics

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

With B-physics , the area which is particle physics called that deals with the study of hadrons busy, a bottom quark included. Since this was only discovered in 1977 at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory , B-physics is still relatively young. It mainly includes the analysis of B- baryons and B-mesons , with the latter especially the CP violation . The building of new accelerators and detectors promises new possibilities .

Of particular interest are the decays of B mesons in order to determine parameters of the Standard Model more precisely, in particular the elements and the CKM matrix as well as the angle  that goes into the complex phase of this matrix.
