The Almaty Legion ( Russian Баскетбольный клуб Алматы ) is a Kazakh basketball club from Almaty . He plays in the Kazakh National League .
history
The association was founded as BC Almaty in 2006. As the biggest success at national level, BC Almaty won the regular season of the national championship in the 2007-08 season and reached the final in the play-offs. Then the club started in the Asian Cup of National Champions in 2008, where they were eliminated in the quarter-finals. In mid-2010, BC Almaty ran into serious financial difficulties. This lasted until the end of the 2013/14 season. At the beginning of the 2014/15 season, a reorganization took place under new management. The club's name was changed to Almaty Legion . At the same time, Almaty started alongside the Kazakh National League as a visiting club in the Russian Super League .
