BIC code

The organization BIC ( Bureau International des Containers et du Transport Intermodal ) assigns  each owner or operator their own owner code to containers according to the international ISO 6346 standard . All assigned codes are listed in the BIC's official register of owner codes.

There has been no standardization of converting the alphanumeric BIC code into a barcode (for semi-automatic reading or automatic scanning) or a 2D code (for automatic reading or scanning).
