The Bic Phone is an offshoot of the Alcatel OT-S210 GSM - mobile phone . It's an affordable phone that only has a few basic functions. It is sold to private customers in France and Spain by Orange as a “disposable cell phone”. On June 21, 2010 it was announced that the Bic Phone would be distributed in Belgium by Proximus , a former subsidiary of Belgacom .

Société Bic , a French manufacturer of disposable products, receives royalties for the use of the brand and is otherwise not involved in manufacturing or selling. Basically, the BIC Phone is not marketed as a disposable phone, but rather as a simple low-entry phone.

The phone is offered for immediate use, with a pre-charged battery and a limited number of free minutes (usually 60). It can be topped up with a prepaid card . The sales package contains a hands-free kit and a micro USB charger. The basic functions consist of a clock, alarm clock, calculator and FM radio. The phone can send and receive SMS messages, but has no multimedia functionality. The price of the phone in Europe has fallen from around € 50 at the beginning to just under € 20 (as of 2012), and as of 2012 it also includes a camera.
