BIS: The magazine of the libraries in Saxony provided information about special stocks, projects and services in the Saxon libraries. Since 2008 the journal BIS has been published by the Saxon State Library - Dresden State and University Library . The magazine aims to illustrate the central role of libraries in the cultural and educational landscape and is aimed primarily at opinion leaders in politics, business and administration as well as the general public.
The magazine was a joint effort by the Saxon librarians and drew attention to the work of all public and academic libraries in the Free State of Saxony.
The magazine appeared four times a year from 2008 to 2017. It can be read as a PDF free of charge. The articles in the journal are also stored on the Saxon document and publication server Qucosa .
