St. Josef (Stepping Up)
St. Josef is a Roman Catholic parish church in the Delbrück district of Anreppen in the Paderborn district , North Rhine-Westphalia . It is a branch church of the parish of St. Landolinus in Boke , which is part of the Boke-Ostenland pastoral association in the Büren-Delbrück deanship of the Archdiocese of Paderborn .
history
Originally, the Catholics went to the parish church of St. Landolinus in Boke. At the beginning of the 20th century the desire for a church of their own grew. After the Second World War , plans for a new building began in 1945. In 1947 a permit could be obtained and in 1948 the church building association was founded. The community was 800 souls and had to contribute to the church building with donations and personal contributions. In addition, grants were received from neighboring communities.
Architect Brocklage from Rietberg was commissioned with the drawings and the groundbreaking ceremony took place on March 11, 1948. With the word To Häergotts Ehr, to Menschen Fiar (High German: To honor the Lord , to please people), the foundation stone was laid on April 23 of that year. The topping-out ceremony was held in January 1949. The consecration was celebrated by Vicar General Dr. Rintelen on October 30, 1949 with the assistance of the local pastor and vicar.
In 1956 the church building association handed the church over to the parish in Boke and disbanded. In 1959 the sacristy was added and in 1960 the church received an organ. During a renovation in 1968, the choir was laid out with Jura marble and received a new altar with a cross hanging over it. The pulpit and communion bench have been removed.
In 1994 the interior was again extensively renovated.
For a long time the church had no tower and the bells came off the tape over loudspeakers. On April 1, 1967, the local daily newspaper took up this as part of an April Fool's joke and reported that a tower was being built using the rapid construction method. The real planning began in 1993 by the church council. Construction began in 1996, which cost 500,000 DM . The community brought in 300,000 DM through donations as a contribution for the construction and casting of the three bells. On August 31, 1997, Auxiliary Bishop Hans Leo Drewes was able to inaugurate the tower.
