BMPT-64

The BMPT-64 is on the chassis of the T-64 based Ukrainian armored . The vehicle has a rear entry ramp for lowering the infantrymen. The crew consists of 3 men and a maximum of 12 infantrymen in the interior.

history

In 2012 a new project was presented by the Kharkov tank repair plant BTRS ( Ukrainian Харківський бронетанковий ремонтний завод ), which is part of Ukroboronprom : a modified version of the heavy armored personnel carrier, equipped with the BMPT-64 heavy armored personnel carrier and engine, based on the T . The BMPT-64 is intended for the transport of personnel using the mobility and protection of the main battle tank. It is a further development of the BMP-64 , with higher protection and stronger armament. The drive was moved from the stern to the bow so that a tailgate could be installed for the infantrymen.

Production takes place on the basis of the conversion of existing T-64 tanks and those that have reached the end of their development stage.

The drive comes from the T-64. Motors of the type 5TDFA or 5TDFE are used.

Armament

  • a 30-mm automatic cannon KBA-2 (unlicensed copy of the Schipunow 2A42 ).

  • two anti-tank guided missiles "Barier" left and right of the tower.
