British Petroleum (Zambia) produces fuel, oil and gas in Zambia . Its main shareholder is British Petroleum Oil Africa Region (BPOAR) in Cape Town . Its head office in Zambia is at Lusaka , Mkuba Pension House, Dedani Kamathi Road.

BPZAM imports, exports, sells and trades in crude oil and petroleum products of all kinds. BPZAM operates a refinery and refining plant for fuels in Kitwe , five depots and 70 filling stations across the country. In 2005 BPZAM also sells solar panels. In 1995 the last 25 percent of the former 100 percent shares, which the Zambian government sold to BPZ in the course of privatization, were valued at US $ 3.3 million, resulting in fixed assets of US $ 13.2 million. In 1996 BPZAM was privatized.

In 2005, the company had sales of US $ 220 million, profits of US $ 8 million and fixed assets of US $ 34.2 million.
