BREEAM

BREEAM ( Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology ) is an assessment system originally from Great Britain for ecological and socio-cultural aspects of the sustainability of buildings (see also green buildings ). It was first published by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) in 1990. The system was developed by a British research institute. More than 250,000 buildings are BREEAM certified and over 1 million are registered for certification, mostly in the UK and other 50+ states.
