The BV Kevelaer (officially Ballspielverein Kevelaer 1920 eV ) was a sports club from Kevelaer in Kleve . The first soccer team played in the highest amateur league in the Lower Rhine region.

history

The association was founded in 1920. After the end of the Second World War , the team became the first post-war champions in the Geldern district . In the subsequent district championship Linker Niederrhein the Kevelaer reached the semi-finals, which were clearly lost to Preussen Krefeld with 0: 9. In 1952, the team made it to the district class. Two years later it went back down to the district class, from which the direct re-promotion succeeded. As early as 1957, the BVK was relegated again to the district class and then no longer got beyond the lower divisions. In 1970 BV Kevelaer merged with TuS Kevelaer, which was founded in 1890, to form Kevelaerer SV . The KSV reached the final of the Lower Rhine Cup against the Wuppertaler SV in 1981 .
