Badinerie

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Badinerie or Badinage ( French: "Fun, Schäkerei") describes a dance-like character piece (not actually a dance ) in suites of the 18th century, which is characterized by a fast and easy two- bar beat . By far the best-known example is the final movement of the 2nd orchestral suite in B minor (BWV 1067) by Johann Sebastian Bach .
