The Badlands Observatory (Badlands Observatory) is an astronomical observatory in South Dakota . It was founded in 2000 by Ron Dyvig of the Kitt Peak National Observatory and is operated by the Black Hills Astronomical Society .
It is in the village of Quinn in Pennington County of South Dakota is home and carries the IAU number 918th
A reflector telescope with a diameter of 66 cm serves as the main instrument .
