Bago-Kusuntu (also: Bago , Koussountou ) is the language of the Bago , who mainly live in Togo . Bago-Kusuntu is one of the Gur languages .
The number of speakers is estimated at around 7,500 (SIL 2002) people, making the language one of the endangered languages of West Africa.
In Togo they live mainly in the Central Region (Togo) in the Tchamba prefecture. A dialect of the language known as Bagou is spoken near the town of the same name, Bagou, which is about 35 km south of Koussountou. In the vicinity of the place Koussountou, which is about 25 km southeast of Tchamba , a dialect named Koussountou is also spoken after the place.
