The Hermeskeil railway depot (machine station until 1903) dates back to 1888 and is located directly opposite the reception building of Hermeskeil station .

It has a six-room round shed (originally two-room) and a 16 m turntable (originally 13 m). The Hermeskeil depot (branch of the Simmern depot from 1956, closed on April 1, 1959) is privately owned and used as a steam locomotive museum. Among other things, around 50 locomotives (mostly large steam locomotives) are on display there.
