Uelzen Railway Depot (OHE)

The Uelzen depot of the Osthannoversche Eisenbahnen (OHE) is a depot for the maintenance of the locomotives and double-decker cars of the metronom railway company . It is located in Uelzen on the so-called Dannenberger Bahnbogen on the former Uelzen – Dannenberg railway line .

history

Originally, the construction of the depot was planned on the site of the old Uelzen freight station, but it was not possible to acquire Deutsche Bahn operating space there. The plant was therefore built on the northern outskirts of Uelzen, where the Uelzen – Dannenberg line meets the Hanover – Hamburg line . Construction began on November 5, 2002, and was completed on December 13, 2003.

The vehicles are serviced in the OHE depot by OHE staff. Besides the trains are in operation works well electric locomotives and earlier, the Blue Tiger - diesel locomotives home.
