The Ageo Station ( Jap. 上尾駅 , Ageo-eki ) is located in Ageo in Saitama Prefecture . It is served by the Takasaki Line (高崎 線) of the JR East .
history
On July 28, 1883, the station was opened by the first private railway company in Japan, the Nippon Tetsudō ( 日本 鉄 道 , literally: "Japan Railway"), with the Takasaki line.
