The Kaxgar Railway Station ( 喀什 火车站 , Kashi huochezhan / 喀什 站 , Kashi zhan ) is a train station in the city of Kaxgar in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . It lies along the South Xinjiang Railway ( 南疆 铁路 ) from Turfan (or Ürümqi) to Kaxgar , an extension of the Lan Xin Line or Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway from Lanzhou to Ürümqi .

The train station, built in 1999, is located in the east of the city. The train station is located outside the city center and, in terms of urban planning, is enclosed in a band of several smaller buildings. In the wider area there are several smaller residential areas that have been built over in recent years by several large-scale building structures.

The station forecourt is very large with its dimensions of 230 meters by 300 meters. The main focus of the design is on a round lawn, which extends from the train station to the entire square. The access road and parking spaces are located on stone paving directly in front of the station building.

The station fulfills the function of a main station. However (as of 2009) only two trains a day run to the station, both coming from Ürümqi . Tickets for trains from Urumqi are also sold at the station. Another ticket sale can be found at the bus station in the center of Kaxgar.
