Langholz station

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The station Langholz was from 1903 to 1949 an interchange between the two Swiss intercity trams Uster Oetwil course (UOeB) and Wetzikon-mile track (WMB) and then until 1950 a stop on the WMB.

The station had tracks for both railway companies that belonged to the respective railway company. These were completely in the road surface.

The Uster – Oetwil railway line was connected to the Wetzikon – Meilen railway line via a triangular track. The track system of the Wetzikon – Meilen Railway consisted of a through track and a siding leading to the Uster – Oetwil Railway. The siding also served as a track triangle. This was also used to approach the Uster – Oetwil railway depot. The two tracks of the Uster – Oetwil railway were located in the eastern leg of the track triangle.

The area of the station is on the ground of the municipality of Oetwil am See . The remise of the Uster – Oetwil railway can still be seen today, but the reception building has been demolished.
