List of train stations in Japan |
The Shakujii-kōen station (Japanese 石 神 井 公園 駅 , Shakujii-kōen eki ) is one of the largest train stations in the Nerima district of the Japanese prefecture of Tokyo . It is located in the outer northwest of Tokyo on the Ikebukuro line of the private railway company Seibu Tetsudō . The Shakujii-kōen (Shakujii Park) is located southwest of the station. The station has two platforms that serve four tracks. The previously four-track Ikebukuro line will have two tracks northwest of the station. Most express trains stop here, there are train overhauls, and especially during rush hour, some trains to / from Ikebukuro start / end in Shakujii-kōen.
The station was originally opened on April 15, 1915 as Shakujii Station ( 駅 神 井 駅 , Shakujii-eki ) in the former village of Shakujii and operated by Musashino Tetsudō, a forerunner of Seibu Tetsudō.
