The Wengern East Station is located in Wetter (Ruhr) .

It is located on the Ruhr Valley Railway and the connecting line to the main Witten – Schwelm line, which is now only operated by freight traffic . While the Ruhr Valley Railway opened on June 1, 1874, the connecting line was not added until 1926. The actual Witten – Schwelm line was not completed until May 15, 1934. Since it runs further west and also got a stop (Wengern West), the Wengern station on the Ruhr Valley Railway was renamed Wengern East . Passenger traffic on the Witten – Hagen connection only existed since May 1937; it was discontinued in May 1986. The Ruhr Valley Railway leaves the connecting line north of the station without crossing. To the north of the station, the Ruhr Valley Railway is only used for tourist traffic, to the south it is a double-track line for freight traffic from Witten to Hagen.

Only the museum trains of the Bochum-Dahlhausen Railway Museum stopped here for passenger transport. Scheduled passenger traffic on the Ruhr Valley Railway north of Wengern Ost was stopped in 1971.

There is a central platform that can only be used on one side; access is via a tunnel.

In October 2019, access to the platform was closed by Deutsche Bahn AG due to security deficiencies. After repair work, the tourist trains of the Ruhr Valley Railway will most likely stop here again.
