The Wuppertal-Ottenbruch train station is a train station in Wuppertal . It is located on the Düsseldorf-Derendorf-Dortmund Süd railway line ("Wuppertaler Nordbahn"), which was opened in 1879 and is largely closed in this section . It is distinctive due to its partially slate - clad half - timbered construction and was last used for gastronomy purposes. It is named after the location in Ottenbruch .
The rear of the building with the train tracks occasionally served as a location for outside scenes of films set in the pre-war period thanks to the modernization that was never carried out after the Second World War .
The station building has been registered as a monument since 1985. In March 1993 the jazz album Demon Chaser by the Gerry Hemingway Quintet was recorded here.
