Rail Mail (France)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The first rail mail in France was received on July 16, 1846 on the Paris - Rouen route.

Between October 1984 and 2015 there were some TGV high-speed trains under the name “ TGV postal ”, which were completely set up for the transport of mail. They replaced the rail mail cars carried on passenger trains, for example on the Paris – Lyon route . Originally, the TGV postal network was to be extended to neighboring countries. In the trains, there is only one transport and no further processing on the way.
