Baile Mhic Íre [ ˌbˠalʲə vʲɪc ˈiːɾʲə ] ( Anglicized : Ballymakeery or: Ballymakeera ) is a village in the valley of the river An Sulán (Anglicized: Sullane River ) in the west of County Cork , Ireland . It is in the Gaeltacht of Múscraí Thiar (Anglicised: West Muskerry ). As in the neighboring Baile Bhuirne, the vernacular is the Munster dialect of Irish . Therefore only the Irish name Baile Mhic Íre has official status. The population of Baile Mhic Íre was determined in the 2016 census to be 427.
