The Bakersfield City Hall (including City Hall South ) in Bakersfield , California , contains the offices of the mayor and members of the City Council .

The building, completed in 1954, is located in downtown Bakersfield and replaced the town hall, which was destroyed in an earthquake on July 21, 1952. One block to the west is City Hall North, which houses additional parts of the city administration. In front of Bakersfield City Hall is a statue of the city's founder, Colonel Thomas Baker, which is listed as a California Historical Landmark.
