Bakkar Buthi

Bakkar Buthi is the modern name of a settlement of the Indus culture in Baluchistan ( Pakistan ). It is located on the Kanrach and Windar rivers . The place was on a hill and consisted of two areas. There was a fortress and an adjacent settlement with workshops in which chert was processed. The buildings of the settlement were made of stone and clay. Remnants of a dam were found south of Bakkar Buthi . It is the southernmost of a total of three dams that suggest a sophisticated irrigation system. The pottery is typical of the Indus culture, but pottery from the Kulli culture was also found . Signs of the Indus script are carved into a shard . The place was from about 2400 to 2000 BC. Inhabited.
