Bakla Horani is a Greek Carnival festival in Istanbul , which the Greek Orthodox Christians take Lent for at least 500 years. Other sources assume that it could even have originated on the basis of a festival from ancient times . The festival had been banned since 1941 on the grounds that it would endanger public safety in the city and could be celebrated again in public for the first time in March 2011. Translated, the name means something like: I eat beans
