The Balçova dam ( Turkish Balçova Barajı ) is a drinking water - dam above the southern district Balçova the city Izmir (Western Turkey ).
The dam was built in the years 1970–1980 on Ilıca Deresi. The barrier structure is a rock embankment dam . The height is 73 m above the foundation level and 64.4 m above the valley floor. The dam volume is 1.011 million m³. The reservoir covers an area of 40 ha at normal destination. The storage volume is 7.76 million m³.
