Baltic ice hockey league

The Baltic Ice Hockey League was a transnational ice hockey competition in the Baltic States , in which teams from Estonia , Latvia and Lithuania participated. It was held once in the 2000/01 season and won by the Latvian club HK Liepājas Metalurgs . After the 2000/01 season, the league was discontinued. Instead, a cup competition was held once in the 2004/05 season .

2000/01 season

Five teams took part in the Baltic League in the 2000/01 season, three from Latvia and one each from Lithuania and Estonia . The teams first played the places in a group of three (Group A) in the return leg. The group winner qualified for the final, the second for the game for third place. In the group of two (group B), the final participant and the participant for the game for third place were also determined in the best-of-three mode.

Also in best-of-three mode, the winners of the final round games were then determined. In the final, the HK Liepājas Metalurgs prevailed against the HK Riga 2000 .
