Baltic observer

Baltic Observer was a German-language newspaper in the Memelland .

history

The newspaper was published under this name from 1936. It had its origins in the newspaper with the title Memeler Latest News , which appeared for the last time on February 16, 1934. It was reprinted under the title Baltic Sea Observer .

A year later, this title was also renamed Memeler Observer on July 21, 1935 , and was finally printed under the name Baltic Observer from 1936 . The newspaper had the subtitle Lithuanian newspaper in German .

The newspaper was published by Rytas Aktiengesellschaft, based in Memel , Simon-Dach- Str. 1, published. It appeared six days a week, but not on Sundays or public holidays. In 1937 the edition had a total of 4,000 pieces and was aimed at officials and part of the rural population of the Memelland. The last edition appeared on September 30, 1938.

The newspaper's political line represented the interests of Lithuanian politics.
