The Bamsee is a lake in Burkina Faso near the city of Kongoussi with an area of about 30 km².
The lake serves as a livelihood for the surrounding towns and villages, which use it to irrigate the fields (mangoes!) And to raise cattle. It is also fished intensively in it. However, it is threatened by dehydration and its water level fluctuates sharply over the course of the year.
