Banco de Crédito

The Banco de Crédito , also known as Edificio MIDES , is a building in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo .

The building, projected in 1956 and completed in 1961, is located in the Barrio Cordón on Avenida 18 de Julio 1451-1455 , corner of Dr. Javier Barrios Amorín . Juan Antonio Rius was responsible as the architect and L. Vaia as a collaborator (Arquitecto colaborador) . The Banco de Crédito originally served as a bank building. It now houses the headquarters of the Uruguayan Ministry of Social Development (Ministerio de Desarrollo Social) .
