Banda Mel , now Bandamel , is an Axé group from Bahia .
Career
Banda Mel was founded in 1984 as a carnival block in Salvador da Bahia . The band had five different formations over the years. One of the first consisted of Boock Jones, Janete Dantas and Jaciara Dantas, who died of pancreatitis in a hospital in Salvador da Bahia in 2002 at the age of 38. The second line-up consisted of Márcia Short, Róbson, Alobêned Airam, Jailton Dantas and Dito Régis. Patrícia Alvaia, who became known for her songs "A Flor do Olodum" and "Maluco beleza", belonged to the third formation. Patrícia Alvaia appeared in Belo Horizonte in 1993 at the Mineirão football stadium . Like Márcia Freire and Aline Rose, she moved to the Cheiro de Amor group. Her greatest successes include songs like "Protesto do Olodum (E Lá Vou Eu)", "A Flor do Olodum", "Mulher Primazia", "Barca Furada", "Levada de Romance", "Prefixo de Verão", "Baianidade" Nagô ”,“ Crença e Fé ”and“ Conversa Fiada ”.
