Banda Eva

Banda Eva or Grupo Eva is a Brazilian Sambareggae and Axé band from Bahia .

Career

Banda Eva, Banda EVA or just EVA was created in 1980 as a carnival block in Salvador da Bahia and since 1993 as a music group. She produced famous artists such as Luiz Caldas , Daniela Mercury , Ivete Sangalo , Ricardo Chavez and Durval Lelys, singer of the band Asa de Águia. From 1986 to 1989 Daniela Mercury sang the background vocals of the carnival block. In 1993, Banda Eva signed a record deal with Sony Music, later switched to PolyGram and is currently under contract with Universal Music Group. Banda Eva had the greatest success with Ivete Sangalo, who sang hits like "Me Abraça", "Beleza Rara", "Levada Louca", "Arerê" and "Carro Velho". In 1998 Ivete Sangalo left Banda Eva and pursued her solo career. Emanuelle Araújo succeeded Ivete Sangalo, with her hits like "Pra Lá e Pra Cá" and "Chuva de Verão". In 2002 Saulo Fernandes, the former singer of the band Chica Fé, took her place. In 2005 the group celebrated its 25th anniversary and recorded the CD and DVD “Banda Eva 25 Anos: Ao Vivo” in Riocentro / Rio de Janeiro with the artists of their careers Ricardo Chaves, Luiz Caldas, Durval Lelys, Emanuelle Araújo and Ivete Sangalo up. Banda Eva is still one of the most important and style-forming music groups from Salvador da Bahia.
