history

The history of PSA Bank goes back to the early days of industrial car production. As early as 1919, CITROËN founded the company's own finance company SOVAC (Société de Ventes A Crédit). In 1928 PEUGEOT followed with the finance company "Din". PSA Bank has been active on the German market since 1973 with its headquarters in Neu-Isenburg. The car bank founded at that time as Chrysler Credit Bank GmbH was taken over by PSA Financial Holding in 1980, four years after the merger of PEUGEOT and CITROËN.

Since then, the bank has been renamed PSA Creditbank GmbH in 1995 and changed its name to PSA FINANCE Deutschland GmbH in 1999. Since then, customers and trading partners have been approached with a separate branding as CITROËN or PEUGEOT Bank. In 2005 the company name changed with the legal form and the bank operated as BANQUE PSA FINANCE SA branch Germany until 2016.

In 2014, Groupe PSA concluded a financial cooperation with Santander Consumer Finance, which provided for cooperation in eleven countries, including Germany and Austria. On July 1, 2016, the newly established PSA Bank Deutschland GmbH emerged from this joint venture, in which Groupe PSA and Santander Consumer Finance each hold 50 percent. Since then, PSA Bank Deutschland GmbH has been fully responsible for the operational business of the German and Austrian branches of the former BANQUE PSA FINANCE SA The management of PSA Bank Deutschland GmbH is the responsibility of Ms. Michelle Giblin and Mr. Jean-Marc Plumyène. The company currently employs around 250 people.
