Barbarian Wars

As barbarian wars ( English Barbary Wars ) are two armed conflicts between the United States of America and the North African barbarian states during the early 19th century.

• American-Tripolitan War (1801-1805)
• American-Algerian War (1815)

Repeatedly flaring up wars between the barbarian states and European sea powers had already existed in the 17th and 18th centuries and still existed a few years after the two military actions mentioned above.
